03/24 0335: Tamaqua Fire Department, Rescue, EMS, dispatched to 109 Center St for reported house fire. From county, caller reported smoke from house across from Burger King, unsure of exact address. C771 responding, update from county, PD on scene reporting working fire 116 Center St, middle home of block. Request second alarm.
Citizens E782 and AHCO E776 responding. AHCO followed up with crew on E775 and L770. E782 on scene, heavy fire from 116 second floor and into third, fire running across attic to 114 and 118. E782 stretching lines for interior attack. E776 laid line from hydrant to E782, all occupants reported out of the buildings. Crews laddered front of structure. Lines stretched into 114, 116, 118 with crews opening walls and ceilings on second and third floors.
Bulk of fire knocked down in 30 minutes, overhaul in process. Coaldale tower in position to open up outside of structure on third floor and roof line. Fire under control at 0500. L770 released from scene, crews starting to pack up.
