0016: Tamaqua Fire, rescue and EMS, dispatched to 12 West Broad St, reported apartment building fire.
E776 responding, update from county, occupant reporting smoke detector activation and smoke condition on 4th floor, will be Pennsylvania Performing Arts Academy. E775 responding followed by AHCO crew on L770, all other Tanmaqua units repsonding.
E782 on scene side A, E776 to rear of structure, nothing showing at this time, occupents being evacuated from 12 and 14 West Broad. C772 in command, E775 took position on side A as well as L770. Crews accessing from front and rear. Reporting smoke condition coming from common wall of 12 and 14 West Broad on Div 1, other crews reporting CO levels on on divisions. Access being made to 14 West Broad st. Ventilation with PP fans in place.
Access made to basement of 12 West Broad, moderate smoke condition appears to be from oil burner and chimney area, unsure of cause. L770 pulled up to front of structure for roof access. Crews able to access roof from rear, found obstruction in chimney. Cleared obstruction, smoke condition clearing.
Units remained on scene for over an hour till CO levels returned to zero in both structures and smoke condition cleared.
