12/19 0144: Tamaqua Fire Department, Rescue, EMS, dispatched to 111 West Broad St for reported house fire. Correction on address from county, 43 West Broad, PD on scene reporting flames showing.
Citizens E782 responding and quickly on scene, reporting smoke showing to rear of the structure, 3 story commercial structure with appartments. E776 responding, assignment to front of the structure, E782 in command. Fire located on third floor rear appartment. E775 responding along with crew on L770. E775 assigned to rear and L770 to front of the structure, hand lines in operation, C771 assuming command.
L770 put the stick to the third floor and accessed via front window to front apartment. Fire knocked down by interior crews from the rear, overhaul in progress and crews checking for any extension. L770 crew reporting water line broke on third floor, requesting water to be shut off from basement. Fire declared under control in about 30 minutes. Within an hour crews started to return to station.
